For example, AMS is only available to Amazon sellers, however, if you sell your products through Marketplace, you can only use the Seller Central ads platform.

How many types of sellers are there on Amazon?

There are two types of sellers on Amazon: Vendor and Seller. The main difference is in who will sell your products.

Seller Central (SC)

They are independent sellers or brands that sell their products directly to customers through Amazon.

Vendor Central (VC)

They are the sellers who act as suppliers to Amazon. On the web it will appear as sold and shipped by Amazon.

Why should you sell through Amazon?

The numbers speak for themselves, Amazon is the E-commerce with the highest sales in Spain during 2016. According to data from Statista eCommerceDB, Amazon Spain (amazon.es) invoiced 871 million euros.

Until July 2017, the Black Friday 2016 had been the day with the most sales in the history of Amazon.es with more than 940,000 products sold in 24 hours, surpassed by Prime Day.

We can see how the days when promotions such as Black Friday, Cyber Monday and Prime Day are a great opportunity for Amazon sellers to make themselves known and gain more visibility for potential customers.

What are the main differences between Amazon Marketing Services and Amazon Advertising?

AMS is much more complex than Seller Central, mainly because of the new types of campaigns that allow the inclusion of new multimedia elements and new statistical reports that are a little more complicated to understand.

The only more complex aspect of Seller Central ads, unlike AMS, is found in the feature of adding negative keywords to automatic campaigns.

Type of campaigns

In Seller Central, we can only run sponsored product campaigns, while AMS offers more ways to reach your target audience. In addition to being able to create sponsored product campaigns, AMS also has featured ads and Display ads.

In short, the main advantage of using Amazon Marketing Services is that it offers additional options to achieve greater reach but requires more effort in creating and managing campaigns compared to Seller Central.
