ZAMBIA PROJECT

Novicell supports the Danish association Eventure Project Zambia, a comprehensive development project aimed at children and young people in northern Zambia. This project includes a sports school, a kindergarten and a unique floating “book boat”.

Why do we choose to support a project in a developing country? We believe that, as citizens or as a company, it is a benefit and, in addition, we have a moral duty to contribute to the creation of a more equitable distribution around the world.

Long-term cooperation

Novicell has been supporting the Eventure project in Zambia since 2013, and we've been on the journey almost since the beginning. We send regular donations every month, instead of making a single donation. In this way, Eventure can increase the creation of sustainable initiatives that are able to look to the future and create even more development for everyone involved. This applies both to children, students, and employees in Zambia, but also to the more than 500 Danish volunteers who have been through the project since its inception.

ZAMBIA PROJECT

We have selected Eventure among other development projects because it is a young and enthusiastic partnership with visionary founders. It's a small association where words are transformed into actions.

Project Zambia is the partnership's first development initiative. The project school gives home to local young people for a year and the project focuses on each student individually; each person provides a little knowledge about what they know most: agriculture, health education, sports, etc. A nursery has also been built for children in the neighboring village, where basic education is provided and a focus is placed on health and hygiene. Finally, the “library ship” serves as a mobile school along the coast of Lake Tanganyuka, providing learning and play to children and young people in the local community.

We can all contribute

Novicell encourages other companies to participate in the project — the contribution can depend freely on each company's available resources.

“My hope is that at least 10 new companies will support the project over the next few years,” says Per Kirchner, CEO of Novicell.

Visit the Eventure website if you plan to support the project in Zambia. You can contact Leandro Benítez to hear more about our opinion on this collaboration.

What does a company do?

like Novicell in Zambia?

In November 2017, our CEO Per Kirchner and our executive member Terje Loland visited the project in Zambia for the second consecutive year. In this podcast, the two of them answer why a company like Novicell decides to invest large amounts of time and money in a project 8,000 km away.
