The Challenge
The Government of Greenland granted the Royal Arctic Line A/S an exclusive concession for the transport of all maritime cargo to and from Greenland and between Greenlandic cities and settlements.
The Group urgently needed a new website, fortunately it was ready to establish long-distance relationships with Novicell. Two months later, the website was created through Umbraco with a responsive design, so the process was extremely fast and efficient.
The Solution
The collaboration began with a workshop with the Novicell design team to work on the identity of the Royal Arctic Line and to ensure online communication between the main areas.
In practice, it was three days (among other things) with a large number of “wireframes”, which are a kind of “blueprint” of the website that prioritizes the content and functionality of the page. Wireframes ensure that all parties agree on the structure before moving on to visual expression.
Examples of design features
- Responsive design that adapts to everyone.
- Large backgrounds: Scroll down and see the bottom of the ocean.
- Static menu that stays at the top
- A large menu bar and a footer at the bottom.
Images of Greenland's fjords are grateful design elements to work with, so the team decided to let them be found all over the website.
Follow the boat route online
You can make a reservation request and track the order on a regular basis. A fun feature is that, as a customer, you can follow the route of the ships on a map through webcams installed on the ships.
The website also contains the schedules integrated into the system thanks to the good functioning of the company's management.
2 new websites on the way
The next step for the Royal Arctic Line is the development of two new websites for the Group following the same model.
