We escape in search of creativity and new ideas

Last weekend, all the Novicell Spain team we traveled to Borredà, a town in the Berguedà region (province of Barcelona) for our annual getaway and sharing great experiences together.

We stayed at the Mas Xuriguera, a typical Catalan house built in the 18th century in the middle of nature. It was the perfect environment, surrounded by trees and vegetation with a variety of colors ranging from green to brown, the typical colors of autumn to seek the creativity of the entire team.

The main objective of the getaway was to have fun and create synergies while building chatbot prototypes integrated with IoT systems.

The first day when we arrived at the house we could see a few snowflakes falling, something symbolic, but which left us with a bucolic image.

Once we were all in place, we met to prepare for what would be the weekend since we had to modify some of the plans due to the weather.

On Friday, the technology team began experimenting with their own chatbot conversation flow system so that companies can transform and improve their customer service department by controlling conversations with their users. We chose the tourism sector for our proof of concept, although it is replicable for all types of sectors.

At the same time, the Marketing team conducted research on words and phrases most used by users and how they were interpreted by our natural language processing (NPL) artificial intelligence systems.

Another of the technological teams was working in parallel with IoT systems integrating presence sensors with the chatbot engine. This type of interaction between the physical world of things allows endless possibilities, for example, the user can know when there is a line at a hotel counter and, if it is moving quickly. The user can be in the bar or in the Hall waiting while there was a line and receive an alert when the line is over.

One of the highlights of the weekend was the gastronomy, we divided into groups to prepare different dishes, the ones that stood out the most were the chicken and rabbit paella from Elche (typical of the Alicante area, specifically the part of Elche) and the enchilada with meat.

But it couldn't be a full weekend without a bit of sport, the bravest went out on bikes to cover about 30 km fighting the cold with temperatures below zero. We especially want to thank Bravento, an innovative company in the field of sports and health for companies, for joining us on the weekend and working with us on the sports culture in the company.

The not-so-brave went out to explore the surrounding forests on foot, where we could enjoy nature while relaxing walking among the trees and enjoying wonderful landscapes and breathtaking views.

Novicell's culture and values are focused on improving people's satisfaction and development. Novicell's maxim is Flink & Flittigt (Gentle & Diligent), a little difficult to pronounce, although we tried and it didn't work out so badly.

A full weekend: gastronomy, sports and working on the creativity and motivation of the whole team to achieve great challenges.
