Technical improvements in a new and multipurpose B2B online store solution

HC-CARGO

HC-CARGO is part of the Bosch Group and is working to become “eCargo - the No. 1 eTailer in electric automotive parts” in 95 countries. To help them achieve this, they asked Novicell to provide their experience in developing an online implementation to support this new vision.

The Solution

After a preliminary analysis, we developed a completely new responsive solution for the store with a fast angular catalog. Angular guarantees good performance in searches, category pages, product lists, etc. which increases the user experience, which is a key factor in the battle for customers. In addition, Angular makes it easy for HC-CARGO to maintain the site, since all filters and updates are synchronized across all catalogs on the site.

Search, the engine of the engine room

70-80% of commercial customers in Europe and North America search online before buying new spare parts. Consequently, the search engine was the focal point throughout the project.

With 24,000 products, intelligent and fast search was essential to ensure a manageable store with intuitive navigation. As a result, a large search area was placed in the central part of the first page and the main navigation was reduced to a minimum.

The search area was created as “type what you are looking for” and the results are presented in a drop-down menu, ordered by product, category and article. HC-CARGO can influence the ranking of search results, pointing searches to more relevant results. It is very useful when someone uses synonyms, for example.

To carry out the ambitious growth strategy, Novicell also provides HC-Cargo with search engine optimization and marketing to ensure that it receives as much relevant online traffic as possible.

Accommodating users

A totally new and unique feature of these types of B2B sites is that customers can now register as users. This gives them quick access to data for 24,000 items, to see prices and availability, and to purchase merchandise. This is just another example of how everything possible was done to create a good user experience during the visit.
